Pressure washing invoices, part by part

The best time to send a pressure washing invoice is while the driveway is still drying and the difference is obvious. An invoice that follows the estimate surface by surface gets paid there and then.

Start with the invoice number and date, then your business name and contact details, plus a license line if your state or city requires one. The FTC tells homeowners to look for a contractor's name, address, phone and license number on their paperwork. Add the customer's name, the property address and the estimate number this invoice bills.

List each surface cleaned with its size and method, the same way you wrote the estimate: "Driveway, 600 sq ft, surface cleaner", "House siding, soft wash, all four sides". Then add-ons such as sealing pavers, brightening gutters or treating a deck.

Customers often add surfaces once they see the first one clean. When that happens, give each one its own line marked as approved extra work. It keeps the total clear and avoids a surprise at the bottom line.

If a stain only lightened, as you warned on the estimate, a short note on the invoice saves an awkward conversation later.

Below the lines: sales tax where it applies, the total, any deposit received, the balance due, the due date and how to pay.

For commercial customers, such as a storefront or an HOA, add their purchase order or job reference near the top. Their accounts team will look for it before they pay.

If you took before and after photos, mention it in a note at the bottom. You can send them with the invoice if the customer asks what they paid for.
