Quick answer

A pressure washing estimate shows your business name and contact details, the customer and property address, an estimate number, the date and a valid-until date. It lists each surface, such as the driveway, house siding, deck or roof, with its size in square feet, the cleaning method, such as pressure wash or soft wash, and the price. Add sealing or add-ons, options, sales tax where it applies, the total, any deposit, exclusions and a signature block.

What to include

  • Business name and contact details
  • Customer name, property address, date and estimate number
  • Each surface, with size in square feet
  • Method for each surface: pressure wash or soft wash
  • Add-ons, such as sealing or gutter brightening
  • Options, such as wash only or wash and seal, one recommended
  • What's not included, such as stain removal not guaranteed

Pressure washing estimates, part by part

Most pressure washing jobs are sold in the driveway: you walk round, measure, and the homeowner wants a number before you leave. A clear estimate lets them say yes on the spot, and it stops the classic misunderstanding about whether the oil stain or the rust mark will come out.

Start with your business name and contact details, plus a license line if your state or city requires one. The FTC says a written estimate should describe the work, the materials, the completion date and the price. Then the customer's name, property address, date and estimate number.

List each surface on its own line with its size in square feet: driveway, front walk, patio, house siding, deck, fence, roof. Then the method for each one. Concrete usually takes a surface cleaner and high pressure; vinyl siding, painted wood and roofs usually get a soft wash with a cleaning solution. Writing the method on the line shows the customer you won't blast their paint off.

Add add-ons on their own lines: sealing a paver patio, brightening gutters, treating a deck after washing.

Pressure washing suits options: wash only, wash and seal, or a whole-house package of siding, driveway and walks together, each priced in full, with your recommendation marked.

Be clear about what is not included or not promised. Old oil, rust and some stains may lighten rather than disappear; say so on the estimate. Then sales tax where it applies, the total, any deposit, a valid-until date and a signature block.

Set it up once, then reuse it

  • Download the PDF, Word or Excel version and save a master with your business details and your usual surfaces listed.
  • At the property, measure each surface, then fill in the customer, address, date, estimate number and valid-until date.
  • Enter each surface with its size and method, then add-ons.
  • Build wash-only and wash-and-seal options.
  • Add tax, exclusions and any deposit, then send it and ask the customer to sign.

Questions

What should a pressure washing estimate include?

Your business details, the customer and property address, an estimate number and date, each surface with its size, the cleaning method, add-ons such as sealing, options if relevant, sales tax where it applies, the total, any deposit, a valid-until date, exclusions and a signature block.

Should I price pressure washing by the square foot?

Many pressure washing businesses do, at least for flat surfaces like driveways and decks. Whatever unit you use, write it in the line name, such as "Driveway, 600 sq ft, surface cleaner". The customer can check the size and compare bids fairly.

Should I say which surfaces get a soft wash?

Yes. Siding, roofs and painted surfaces are often soft washed rather than blasted. Writing the method on each line shows the customer you've thought about their house, and sets expectations about the result.

Should I ask for a deposit on a pressure washing estimate?

That is your call. Smaller jobs are often paid on completion. For big commercial jobs, a deposit can make sense. If you take one, put the amount on the estimate. Some states limit how much a contractor can ask for as a down payment, so check your state's rules before you set one.

Can my customer sign the pressure washing estimate online?

With the downloaded file, they sign on paper or send back a signed scan. If you make the estimate in the Quoza pressure washing estimate maker, the customer gets a link, reads it on their phone and signs online.

Can I download the template in Word or Excel?

Yes. The pressure washing estimate template comes as a PDF, a Word file and an Excel sheet, all free and with no email required.
