Quick answer
A pressure washing quote gives a fixed price for a defined job. It shows your business details and VAT number if you're registered, the customer and property address, a quote number and date, each surface with its area in square metres and the method, such as jet wash or soft wash, add-ons like re-sanding or sealing, any options, whether prices include VAT, how long the price is valid, and a space to accept.
What to include
- Business name, address and contact details; VAT number if VAT-registered
- Customer's name, property address, date and quote number
- Each surface, with area in square metres
- Method for each surface: jet wash or soft wash
- Add-ons, such as kiln-dried sand or sealing
- Options, such as clean only or clean and seal, one recommended
- What the clean can't promise, such as old oil stains
- VAT: prices shown inc. or exc. VAT
- Deposit and quote valid until
- Acceptance: customer's signature and date

Pressure washing quotes, part by part
Most driveway and patio cleans are sold on the doorstep: you measure up, and the customer wants a price before you drive off. A clear quote lets them say yes there and then, and stops the usual misunderstanding about whether that old oil stain will come out. Citizens Advice tells customers a written quote should give a fixed total, break down the work and materials, say how long the price is valid and whether VAT is included, and explain when the price could go up.
Start with your business name, address and contact details, and your VAT number if you're registered. Then the customer's name, the property address, the date and a quote number.
List each surface on its own line with its area in square metres: block paving driveway, Indian sandstone patio, decking, rendered walls, roof. Then the method. Paving and concrete usually get a rotary cleaner and high pressure; render, painted surfaces and roofs usually get a soft wash with a cleaning solution. Writing it down shows the customer you won't strip their render.
Add add-ons on their own lines: re-sanding block paving with kiln-dried sand, sealing, or a biocide treatment to slow regrowth.
This kind of work suits options: clean only, clean and re-sand, or clean, re-sand and seal, each priced in full, with your recommendation marked.
Be honest about what a clean can't promise: old oil, rust and tyre marks may fade rather than disappear. Then VAT (inc. or exc.), the total, any deposit, a valid-until date and an acceptance box.

Questions
What should a pressure washing quote include?
Your business details and VAT number if registered, the customer and property address, a quote number and date, each surface with its area and method, add-ons such as re-sanding or sealing, options, what the clean can't promise, VAT, the total, any deposit, how long it's valid and an acceptance box.
What is the difference between a quote and an estimate?
Citizens Advice describes a quote as a fixed price and an estimate as a rough guess that could end up higher. If you've measured the driveway and patio, give a quote.
Should a pressure washing quote include VAT?
If you're VAT-registered, show VAT and say clearly whether prices include or exclude it. Citizens Advice tells customers to check this. If you're not registered, leave the VAT lines blank and say so.
Should I price by the square metre?
Many do for driveways and patios. Whatever unit you use, put it in the line name, such as "Block paving driveway, 45 sq m", so the customer can check the size and compare quotes fairly.
Can I download the template in Word?
Yes. The pressure washing quote template comes as an editable Word file and a PDF, on A4 with prices in pounds. Both are free, with no email required.
