Filling it in for an electrical job

  • Add your business and your customer. Type your business name, then the customer's name, their mobile or email, and the job address.
  • List the job line by line at your own prices. For example: "Replace fuse board with RCBO consumer unit", "Test all circuits", "Electrical Installation Certificate". Labour can be a fixed price or hours. Not sure of one? Leave it empty: it shows Needs price and can't go out at zero.
  • Tap Send to customer and sign up. Nothing to type again. Your customer accepts the quote online and pays any deposit straight to you.

The example electrical lines are marked Sample price. Keep them or set your own before anything goes out.

What your customer sees

The preview shows what your customer gets. Download PDF gives you a printable A4 copy. On their phone they see your business name, each line with your price, VAT, the total, and a deposit if you turned one on. Then they accept and sign.

Electrical work is hard to picture from the hallway. A clear list on their phone, which they can read again later or forward to whoever else is paying, does more than a figure given at the door.

The deposit switch is off until you turn it on. It can help when you buy a consumer unit or EV charger before the job. You choose how customers pay you, by payment link or bank transfer, after you sign up.

Tips for electrical pricing

  • Price the outcome. "EV charger fitted and ready to use" with the lines underneath reads better than a parts list.
  • Show certification as its own line. The customer sees it's part of the job, not an extra.
  • Write the exclusions. Making good after chasing cables, or upgrades the supplier needs to do, are common surprises.
  • Cover remedials. Say up front how you'll price faults found during testing.
  • Watch the valid-until date. Cable and equipment prices move. The maker puts a valid-until date on the quote, so an old price can't come back to you.

Questions

Is the electrical quote maker free?

Yes. Fill in an electrical quote and download it as a PDF without signing up or entering an email. To send it to a customer to accept, you create an account at that step. No card is needed to start.

How do I explain electrical work so the customer gets it?

Describe the result first, then the parts: "New consumer unit so the house is protected circuit by circuit", followed by the unit, RCBOs and labour. Customers accept what they understand.

Should I mention the certificate on the quote?

Yes. Add it as its own priced line, such as "Electrical Installation Certificate", so the customer knows what paperwork to expect when you finish.

Can my customer accept the electrical quote online?

Yes. You send it as a link by text or email. Your customer opens the quote on their phone, checks each line and the total, and accepts and signs it there. They don't need an app or an account.

What if testing finds faults?

Tell the customer before they accept how you'll price remedial work found during testing. Then agree any extra in writing before you start it.
