Filling it in for a construction job
- Add your business and your customer. Type your business name, then the owner's name, their cell or email, and the job address.
- List the job line by line at your own prices. Work through it the way you'll build it: "Demo existing bathroom and haul away", "Frame new shower wall", "Plumbing rough-in", "Tile shower walls and floor", "Vanity, toilet and fixtures, install". Not sure of one? Leave it empty: it shows Needs price and can't go out at zero.
- Tap Send to customer and sign up. Nothing to type again. Your customer gets the estimate as a link, signs online and pays any deposit straight to you.
The example lines are marked Sample price. Keep them or replace them with your own before anything is sent.
What your customer sees
The preview shows what your customer gets. Download PDF gives you a printable copy. On their phone they see your business name, each phase of the job with your price, the tax line, the total, and a deposit if you turned one on. Then a place to sign. An owner who has been comparing bids for weeks can read yours on the couch that evening and sign it there.
The deposit switch is off until you turn it on. It can help when you order materials or book subs before the job starts. If you use it, you choose how customers pay you after you sign up.
Tips for construction pricing
- Price by phase. A line per phase or trade makes your number easy to check against other bids, and makes changes simple to price.
- Name the finishes. "Porcelain tile, customer selection up to the allowance" leaves less room for argument than "tile".
- Say what is not included. Appliances the owner buys, permits they pull, or repairs to framing behind the walls. Put it in a line name, such as "Kitchen cabinets and counters, install (appliances by owner)".
- Plan for what's behind the walls. Tell the owner before they sign how you'll price rot or old wiring found during demo, and agree any extra in writing.
- Mind the valid-until date. Lumber and material prices move. The maker puts a valid-until date on the estimate, so an old price can't come back to you.

Questions
Is the construction estimate maker free?
Yes. Fill in a construction estimate and download it as a PDF without signing up or giving an email. To send it to a customer for signature, you create an account at that step. No card is needed to start.
How should I lay out a remodel estimate?
One line per phase or trade, such as "Demo and haul-away", "Framing", "Plumbing rough-in", "Tile, shower walls and floor". Keep subs and materials on their own lines where you can. The owner sees what each part costs and changes are easier to price later.
Can I offer good, better and best finishes?
This maker builds one option per estimate. To show standard, mid-range and premium finishes side by side, download the construction estimate template, which has room for options.
Can my customer sign the construction estimate online?
Yes. You send it as a link by text or email. Your customer opens the estimate on their phone, checks each line and the total, and signs it there. They don't need an app or an account.
What if I'm still waiting on a sub's price?
Leave the line empty. It shows Needs price, and the estimate can't be sent with a blank or zero price. Fill it in once the sub comes back to you, then send.
